The Fiji Indian Youth group was founded by Mr. Morganan Four months ago. He started looking for young gentleman who could lead a team of youth into battlefield of the cultural context. The Youth group now consists a full committee and is running smoothly. The youth have been working with Mr. Morganan assisting the Senior Citizens in their other projects and seatings to arrange tables, chairs and other things.
The Youth group is keen in organising fund raising in January 2012 to assist the poor and needy people. There projects are now being looked into and will be forwarded for approval soon.
There are about twenty two young people in the group and they are looking forward to move on and on with the HHRF(NZ)
The youth group was needed to support all of our organisations as we have the womens organisation, Senior Citizens organisation, we saw a need for the youth group so according to the trust Morganan went out to form a group for youths from Fiji. This was formed in this year in August after the Shree Krishna Janam Astmi when I saw a group of youth assisting the ramayan mandali from day one of the Festival.
Morganan’s own words — I saw these marvelous young boys as helping hands and I thought that this is what we need. So he started to talk with the group and came forward with the name Anil Chand to be the President. The committee was formed by the nomination from the HHRF(NZ). They vouched to do all the programmes necessary for the organisation.
Last month the senior citizens association (Fiji Indians) celebrated deepawali festival of lights and the youth group was a big assistance and as the organisation holds up any functions they are there to help us all. The youth group is really active and hope to run a fund raising dinner next year.
The group is looking forward to assist the organisations under the umbrella organisation to make sure everything runs smoothly. We are really proud to have the youth group that fulfills our requirements.
The youth group now is doing some projects in the community such as helping community in various ways and looking forward to meet other obligations they have.
